Cameron's Story

By: Kristin (Cam's wife)
I have the opportunity to tell you about my Cam.

Cam loves being with family.  He grew up in a wonderful family who loves him dearly.  He is second of six; three boys, three girls.  They lived in a few areas as Cam was growing up.  He was born in Salt Lake City area, lived here for a few years, and then moved to Los Angeles when he was about 6 or 7.  Later they moved back to Utah and settled in Payson.  He lived there from about second grade to his senior year of high school.

I was told a fun story about Cameron as a baby.  He loved playing with his mom's hair.  She had really long hair when he was born, and had survived one baby already, but Cam was attracted to it.  He played and played with her hair to the point of driving her nuts, so she went and cut it all off.  He didn't recognize her when she came home, but has never stopped liking hair.  His sisters tell me that they hated when he would come and play with their hair, but now he plays with mine!

When Cam was in high school, a National Guard Recruiter came to their school to recruit any seniors who wanted to join.  This was before 9-11, and the incentive for Cam was that they would pay for his education.  His parents agreed, and at 17, Cam joined the Utah National Guard.  This would later lead to our meeting, and temple sealing (marriage)!  Cameron gave 8 years of service to our country, and in the 7th year, he was called to serve in Iraq with the 145th Unit.  This is where our story of love begins!
